“O Lord! now give me an abode to dwell.”
Brahma replied,
“O demon! dwell in the rice particles eaten by men on Ekadashi day and become worms in their stomach.”

Brahma replied,
“O demon! dwell in the rice particles eaten by men on Ekadashi day and become worms in their stomach.”
For this reason rice is prohibited on Ekadashi.
