Kuber

Ramayana records, 

1. Kubera is considered a later addition to the original list of Loka-palas,  This status, the  was granted to Kubera by Brahma as a reward for his severe penance. 
2. Brahma also conferred upon Kubera the riches of the world (Nidhis), 
3. "equality with gods", and the 
4. Pushpaka Vimana, a flying chariot. 
5. Kubera then ruled in the golden city of Lanka, identified with modern-day Sri Lanka.

The Mahabharata says that Brahma conferred upon Kubera 

1. the lordship of wealth, 
2. friendship with Shiva, 
3. godhood, 
4. status as a world-protector, 
5. a son called Nalakubera/Nalakubara, 
6. the Pushpaka Vimana and 
7. the lordship of the Nairrata demons.
